Frequently Asked Questions
In creating this section I hoped to pre-empt some of the stupid and not-so-stupid questions that I thought visitors to the site were likely to ask. So in fact, most of these questions haven't actually been asked yet. If your question is still not answered after reading this page, please contact me.

Who made this site? Is it official?
First; this site is not official, it is made by a dedicated fan :)
This site was originally made by Eamonn way back in time, but at some point he did not continue so i asked him if i could continue carry the torch, to which he agreed. 90% is made by him, but all updates, redesign, missing information and so on is my work. I am an Emperor fan (have been for 30 years) living at the west coast of Norway.
Where do you get your information from?
Much information on this site was drawn from the discography at www.emperorhorde.com. However, I decided I wanted something more comprehensive, for the collector, and created this site. All other information is provided by myself and other Emperor fans (see Credits page) from our own collections, or by Samoth or Lee from Candlelight Records.
Will you be adding lyrics to the site?
I hope so in the future if i am allowed. Permissions needs to be verified first. Note that the lyrics for the demo however are unavailable.
What is the difference between pirates, counterfeits and bootlegs?
- A pirate item reproduces copyrighted material without reproducing the artwork and packaging of the original item. Example: Witches Sabbath EP.
- A counterfeit item reproduces not only recorded material but the artwork, packaging and manufacturer's trademarks and logos, in order to fool the potential buyer into thinking it is original. Example: Wrath of the Tyrant CD.
- A bootleg is a recording, usually of a live performance, that is commercially released without the permission of the copyright owners. No attempt will be made to make the item look official.
Why are there so many different labels that have released official Emperor items?
A small label does not have the capacity to produce and distribute its records abroad, so licences its material to foreign music companies who do it for them, such as Century Media in the US, and Toy's Factory in Japan.
What is [insert title here] worth?
See the Limited Guide. If your item is not listed, e-mail me, but chances are it won't be worth very much.
May I use your images in my auction?
Please contact me first if you wish to do this.
Why are catalogue numbers so important?
Each permutation of every title and format has its own individual catalogue number, so this is how items are referred to.
Can I link to your site?
Of course - but please let me know if you do. Please use one of these banners, and cut and paste this line of html into your webpage ("emperordiscography2.gif" for second banner):
